MARC GRANDIA
Maeve Drew
Born in Ireland, Maeve has had horses running through her blood right from the very beginning. She began riding at the tender age of seven and after years and years of persistence her Dad bought her a pony two years later. Maeve’s early years of riding began with 4H, which then lead to her passion of 3-Day Eventing.
Maeve has brought up many horses through the grass roots to the Preliminary Levels. She has competed throughout BC, the Pacific Northwest and is currently competing with ‘Conroy” an Irish Sport horse gelding. Her other horse is a lovely OTTB “Lincoln’ who is 5 years old and hopefully making his debut later this season!
She has ridden with many great coaches and trainers - Leslie Law, David O’Connor, William Fox Pitt, Nick Holmes-Smith, Lucinda Green, Andrew & Manuela McLean just to name a few.
Maeve gives her time as a Director of Horse Trials BC, sits on the Education and Adult Rider Committee as well as being the Coach Leader of the BC Young Riders. In 2016 & 2017, Maeve attended NAJYRC as Chef d’Quipe of our BC Young Rider team. With amazing results, rider Carmen Holmes Smith brought home individual Gold in 2016 & then in 2017 Tosca Holmes Smith brought Individual Gold home as well!
Maeve is an Equestrian Canada Level 1 Coach with a training facility in the Cowichan Valley. She shares her knowledge of coaching and her passion of horses with her students, promoting good safe riding in a fun, positive environment with a focus on good horsemanship
Brandy Sanders
Brandy grew up in Northern BC, near Smithers. At a young age, she joined Pony Club and began a life and passion for all things equine. She rode and competed on a variety of horses in Hunters, Jumpers, and Dressage and then fell in love with 3 Day Eventing.
After finishing school, she spent a year working in England, at a Hunt Stable in Somerset, which turned out to be excellent training for cross country.
Brandy has been living in the West Kootenay with her family since 2000, where she has been in business (Ride-On Enterprises) boarding a few horses and coaching fulltime, developing a successful eventing program out of her barn, Crescent Valley Stables.
She has a wide range of students from recreational to competitive, and loves teaching everyone in between. She believes in a positive approach, improving the horse and riders understanding of each other, through clear communication and expectations, based on the science of how horses learn. Rider safety and building confidence is a top priority!
Brandy organizes and coaches several popular clinics, including Adult Getaway Weekends and the Annual 5 day Event Camp. She travels and coaches at Events throughout BC, and is the chairperson of the HTBC Young Rider Program.
Brandy brings her riders of all ages together as a team, in a supportive, successful + fun learning environment!
