BCYR Update
Hard to believe that our summer is coming to an end already...seems like we just went to the first event...!! A busy summer on many fronts, with the YR group going to the Whidbey Island Event in July, as well as our two representatives at NAYJRC, Julia Norman and Nayla Charbonneau. The Whidbey trip was a huge success on all fronts, and congrats to all of the BCYR who went and brought home ribbons as well. Sincere congratulations as well to Nayla and Julia on their performances at NAJYRC, they both represented Canada very well, and from what I understand they had a great time. YR also hosted a BBQ at the Campbell Valley Horse Trials, many thanks to Shawn Stephens for organzing that for us and to all the parent volunteers that came out as well. Also, many thanks to CVES for allowing us to host this functions at their show, it was a great meal and a nice little profit for YR as well; those funds will help with education sessions over the winter.
Plans are well underway for the fall Regional Developmental YR Clinics, and registration is now available for the Interior Developmental YR clinic, to be held Sept 18-19 at the Dot Ranch, Hwy 8, Merritt, BC. Focus of these clinics will be skill assessments and aquisition to move towards the event season next year...in other words, HOMEWORK FOR THE WINTER..!!

Young Riders Fund Raising Opportunity
YOUNG RIDERS, PARENTS/FAMILIES; Fundraising opportunity for YR: volunteers needed to jump judge for the Maple Ridge Events. YR's, families and associates will be paid $5/division for jump judging, to go towards the YR fundraising efforts. Contact Maureen Wolfe at pwolfe@shaw.ca and Phyllis at MREC mrec@shaw.ca
Also, Parents/Families of YR needed to assist with the YR Silent Auction Fundraiser held at the AGM in October. This is a big job, and it is time we had some new participants in the project...!! Anyone who would be able to help Maureen Wolfe please contact her at pwolfe@shaw.ca

Young Rider Camp is on...!!
Date: July 2-4
Location: Dot Ranch, Merritt, BC
Instructor: Lynne Larsen, possibly others as well.
Cost: $120
Registration: Opens June 1st, registration form available on website shortly.
Open to all Developing YR who are currently competing in eventing at any level. Priority will be given to Whidbey Island YR Participants. Camp to include dressage, xc, sj'ing as well as off horse topics on fitness, turnout and presentation, feeding etc.
YOU MUST BRING YOUR OWN ACCOMODATION.
