Samantha Taylor, formerly of Richmond BC, has recently been named as the fifth member of the 2008 Canadian Olympic Team for Eventing with her BC bred horse, Livewire. Samantha spent several years riding at Unicorn Stables, was a working student with Chelan Kozak and was very active in Pony Club in BC before relocating to the Eastern US in 2003 to work with Buck Davidson and more recently with David O'Connor. Horse Trials BC wishes Samantha all the best as she embarks on her first Olympic journey.
Horse Trials BC extends speedy recovery wishes to Bethany Healey who suffered a fall while riding at home on July 3rd. She was airlifted from Kelowna to Vancouver General with internal bleeding due to a damaged liver and extensive soft tissue injuries. In true event rider fashion, Bethany has bounced back and although very stiff and sore has been released from hospital. She is optomistically hoping to be back in the saddle in a couple of months. The Healey family extends thanks for all the prayers, well wishing, and offers of support from so many people.
